If you are looking for a quiet getaway in Ito, I would like to introduce a small auberge in Shizuoka Prefecture that accepts only two groups of guests per day: Auberge Hanagoyomi.
Located a little away from the busy streets of the Ito Onsen area, this peaceful inn offers a calm and intimate atmosphere. An “auberge” is a style of accommodation commonly found in rural areas or the countryside, combining a restaurant and a small hotel where guests can enjoy carefully prepared cuisine made with local ingredients.
Creative Kaiseki Dinner with Local Ingredients

Dinner here is a creative kaiseki course that goes beyond the traditional style of Japanese cuisine. Using fresh local ingredients from Ito, every dish is beautifully prepared with great attention to detail.
The course was not only delicious but also visually stunning. The carefully selected tableware, delicate presentation, and colorful plating made each dish feel special. In particular, the beautifully arranged seasonal appetizers immediately caught my attention.

Private Hot Spring Bath in Your Room
Each guest room comes with its own natural hot spring bath, allowing you to relax whenever you like in complete privacy.
The bathtub is made from ancient Japanese cypress said to be over 100 years old, giving off a refined and calming fragrance. I personally enjoyed the hot spring three times during my stay — before dinner, before going to bed, and again in the morning after waking up.
A Generous Japanese Breakfast

Breakfast was also wonderfully satisfying, with a wide variety of dishes served in traditional Japanese style.
Alongside rice and miso soup, there were grilled fish, simmered vegetables, fresh salad, and several colorful side dishes. The breakfast was both filling and beautifully presented.
A Peaceful Escape in Ito
If you want to experience exceptional cuisine and relaxing hot springs in a quiet setting, Auberge Hanagoyomi is a wonderful place to spend a peaceful and memorable stay.
