If you are looking for a good bowl of wonton noodles near Yokohama Station,Guangzhou Ichiba Yokohama Porta is worth checking out.
I have always liked wonton noodles, so this was a restaurant I was interested in trying. On my visit, I ordered the Guangzhou Juicy Pork Wonton Noodles with Soy Sauce Flavor, along with Boiled Wontons (Sara Wonton) and Stir-Fried Shrimp with Egg.
The wonton noodles were the highlight for me. The soy sauce broth was light and easy to drink, but it still had plenty of flavor. The wontons were also delicious, with a satisfying juicy filling.
Here is what I tried and what I thought of the meal.
Visiting Guangzhou Ichiba Yokohama Porta
Guangzhou Ichiba is located inside Yokohama Porta, directly connected to Yokohama Station.
For travelers exploring Yokohama, the location is particularly convenient because you don’t need to make a special trip to find the restaurant. You can easily stop here before or after exploring the city.
The restaurant specializes in wontons and wonton noodles, with several different types and flavors available.
One thing I liked about the menu is that there are several ways to enjoy wontons, so you don’t have to order only a standard bowl of noodle soup.
Guangzhou Juicy Pork Wonton Noodles
For my main dish, I ordered the Guangzhou Juicy Pork Wonton Noodles with Soy Sauce Flavor.
The first thing I noticed was the soup.
It was light and refreshing, but still had a clear soy sauce flavor. It wasn’t overly heavy or salty, which made it easy to keep eating.
For me, this balance was one of the best things about the dish.
I like wonton noodles, but a soup that is too strong can sometimes overwhelm the delicate wontons. Here, the broth worked well with them.
And the wontons themselves were delicious.
The filling was juicy and flavorful, while the thin wrapper gave them a delicate texture.
For me, the wontons were the real highlight of the bowl.
Soy Sauce or Salt Broth?
One useful thing to know before ordering is that you can choose between soy sauce and salt broth for the wonton noodles.
The two options give you quite different experiences.
- Soy Sauce: Savory and flavorful, with a gentle soy sauce taste
- Salt: Lighter and cleaner in flavor
I chose the soy sauce flavor on this visit and really enjoyed it.
Because the soup was light but still flavorful, I didn’t feel that it was too heavy even though I chose soy sauce.
I would like to try the salt version on a future visit to compare the two.
A Mini Size Is Also Available
If you want to try other dishes as well, it is worth knowing that some of the wonton noodle dishes are available in a mini size.
This can be useful for travelers who want to explore several foods during a trip to Yokohama.
A smaller bowl gives you the opportunity to enjoy the wonton noodles without filling up completely.

More Than One Kind of Wonton
Another reason I would like to come back is the variety of wontons.
Besides the juicy pork wontons used in the noodle soup, the menu also includes options such as:
- Coarsely Ground Pork Wontons
- Shrimp Wontons
I haven’t tried all of them yet.
That gives me another reason to return, especially because I already enjoyed the wontons in the noodle soup.
For anyone who likes dumplings, trying different wonton fillings could be a fun way to explore the menu.
Boiled Wontons (Sara Wonton)
I also ordered the Boiled Wontons (Sara Wonton).
Unlike the wontons served in the noodle soup, these are enjoyed separately with a savory sauce.
I liked being able to taste the wontons without the noodle soup.
This also made it easier to appreciate the texture of the wrapper and the flavor of the filling.
If you particularly enjoy wontons, I recommend ordering them as a side dish rather than stopping with the noodle soup.
That way, you can experience them in two different ways.
Stir-Fried Shrimp with Egg
I also ordered Stir-Fried Shrimp with Egg.
The dish had tender shrimp and soft egg, with a mild seasoning that worked well alongside the wonton noodles.
It was also a good dish to share.
After having the wonton noodles and boiled wontons, the shrimp and egg added another texture and flavor to the meal.
If you’re eating with someone else, ordering a few dishes to share is a good way to try more of the menu.
What I Liked About the Wonton Noodles
The main reason I enjoyed this meal was the balance of the wonton noodles.
The soup was light, but it still had a satisfying soy sauce flavor.
That combination is important for me because I don’t necessarily want a heavy soup when eating wonton noodles.
The other highlight was the wontons themselves.
They were juicy and flavorful, and I thought they worked particularly well with the lighter soup.
Since I already like wonton noodles, this was a combination that suited my taste very well.
Would I Go Back?
Yes.
There are still several things on the menu that I haven’t tried.
I would like to come back and try the salt-flavored wonton noodles, as well as some of the other wonton varieties, such as the shrimp wontons and coarsely ground pork wontons.
That’s one of the things I like about Guangzhou Ichiba: even after one visit, there are still several dishes I want to try.
Is Guangzhou Ichiba Worth Visiting?
For me, yes.
If you are near Yokohama Station and want something different from the usual ramen or soba, wonton noodles are a good option.
I would particularly recommend Guangzhou Ichiba to:
- Travelers who enjoy Chinese-style noodles
- Visitors who like dumplings and wontons
- Anyone looking for a casual meal near Yokohama Station
- Travelers who want to try something a little different from typical Japanese ramen
- People who enjoy light but flavorful noodle soups
If it is your first visit, I would recommend starting with the Guangzhou Juicy Pork Wonton Noodles with Soy Sauce Flavor.
The soup is light but flavorful, and the wontons are the highlight.

Since I already enjoy wonton noodles, this was a meal that suited my taste. I also like the fact that there are many other wonton varieties and soup options that I haven’t tried yet.
So I have a good reason to go back.
Next time, I would like to try the salt-flavored wonton noodles and some of the other wonton varieties.
